Privacy and security
How the Hartford Payment Portal uses and protects information submitted through this website.
Last updated: August 20, 2026
Information used by the portal
The portal uses the Hartford account number, consumer name, Social Security number ending digits, and billing ZIP code to verify access to a designated account. It may also use an email address entered during secure checkout for a payment receipt.
How information is used
Information is used to verify identity, display account and settlement information, process and reconcile payments, maintain payment history, prevent unauthorized access, support consumers, and meet recordkeeping and legal obligations.
Payment-card information
Payment-card information is entered on the secure payment processor’s hosted checkout page. The Hartford Payment Portal does not display or store full payment-card numbers, card security codes, or bank-routing information.
Protection and access
Designated account information is protected in transit and sensitive identity fields are encrypted or irreversibly hashed in portal storage. Administrative access is limited by assigned role, logged in an audit history, and protected by session expiration and optional authenticator verification.
Service providers and required disclosures
Information may be provided to payment processors, hosting and technical service providers, clients or creditors connected to the account, and government or legal authorities when reasonably necessary to operate the portal or comply with applicable requirements. The portal does not sell payment-portal identity information.
